West Texas Counseling & Guidance, supported by The Cigna Group Foundation, is enrolling eligible Veteran households in HAVIC, Housing Assistance for Veterans in Crisis.

This program provides short term, limited financial assistance to prevent housing loss related to rent or mortgage only.

- Past due rent

- Past due mortgage payments

- Rent or mortgage support tied to preventing eviction or foreclosure

- Assistance is capped at $1,500 per household for the entire program

- Funds are limited and not guaranteed

- Documentation is required

- Case management is required. Financial assistance is not provided on its own

- This is not long term assistance

- This program is for Veterans and Veteran households in Tom Green County only.

If you are a Veteran who may qualify, or if you work with Veterans who are at risk of losing housing, contact the West Texas Counseling & Guidance Veteran Services Team as soon as possible. Early referrals matter.
